Rainbow Village

On the outskirts of Taiwan's Taichung city is a funny little tourist attraction called Rainbow Village.

That's not Rainbow in the sense of same-sex marriage. Though Taiwan did make the news earlier this year by becoming the first Asian country to allow it.

Rainbow Village is actually a village that was saved from the property developers, by an elderly resident and artist, Huang Yong Fu. He painted the whole village with brightly coloured
murals, thus giving the place new value. Maybe we could try this one in Sydney too?
